What's the difference between ceramic tint and regular tint?
Ceramic tint uses nano-ceramic particles to reject heat at the infrared level, blocking up to 66% of solar heat compared to 20-35% for standard dyed film. Ceramic tint won't interfere with Bluetooth, GPS, or 5G signals, and it won't fade or turn purple over time. Standard dyed film is cheaper upfront but degrades faster, offers less heat rejection, and can interfere with electronics. For daily driving comfort, ceramic is a significant upgrade.

How dark can I legally tint my windows in Pennsylvania and New Jersey?
Two different things both get called "PA tint law," and mixing them up is why nobody agrees on the answer.
The vehicle code names no percentage. It says you can't drive with material that stops someone seeing into the vehicle. That's a judgment call, and it's what's enforced at the roadside.
The 70% figure everyone quotes is PennDOT's safety inspection specification — that's what a station measures against, with a small measurement tolerance. Worth knowing: on trucks and multi-purpose vehicles, which covers most SUVs, that spec doesn't apply to the rear glass at all. That's exactly why our "front two windows" option exists for SUVs and trucks — on those vehicles the backs are already unrestricted, so the fronts are the only panels in question.
New Jersey works differently. No aftermarket film on the front side windows at all. Behind the driver, you can go as dark as you like. New Jersey also offers a medical exemption through the MVC.
How dark you go is your call. We'll tell you which rule your vehicle is measured against and what each film actually does, and then we'll install what you ask for. What we won't do is pretend there's one number that answers this for every car.
This is general information, not legal advice. Confirm current specifications with PennDOT or the New Jersey MVC before you decide.
How long does window tinting take?
Most vehicles take 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the number of windows and vehicle size. SUVs and trucks with more glass can take up to 3 hours. We recommend allowing the full appointment window so we can take our time and deliver a flawless result. You're welcome to wait in our shop or drop off and pick up later.
How long do I need to wait before rolling down my windows?
We recommend waiting 3 to 5 days before rolling your windows down. This gives the adhesive time to fully cure and bond to the glass. During the curing period, you may notice small water bubbles or a hazy appearance — this is completely normal and will clear up within 2 to 4 weeks depending on weather and sun exposure.
Do you tint Tesla and electric vehicles?
Yes — Teslas are one of our most common vehicles. We have custom-cut patterns for every Tesla model (Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck) as well as other EVs like Rivian, Lucid, BMW iX, and Porsche Taycan. Ceramic tint is especially popular on EVs because better heat rejection means less A/C usage, which helps preserve battery range.
Does 3M window film come with a warranty?
Yes. Every 3M film we install — Obsidian, Color Stable, and Ceramic IR — comes with a manufacturer-backed lifetime warranty covering bubbling, peeling, cracking, and discoloration. We also stand behind our installation with a workmanship guarantee. If anything goes wrong, we make it right.
Can window tint be removed without damaging the glass?
Yes, professional removal leaves your glass clean and undamaged. We use a heat-and-steam process that softens the adhesive for clean removal without scratching. If you have old, failing tint from another shop that's bubbling or turning purple, we can remove it and replace it with fresh 3M film in the same appointment.
